Spider Attack – Mad Squid iPhone Game
I recently got a pre-release version of the new Mad Squid iPhone game called Spider Attack, and so thought I write a quick review.
It’s 1953, the US Army have been conducting secret experiments with mutating radiation.
Experiments that have gone badly wrong. The Army baracks are destroyed. The only thing between these Giant Mutant Spiders and worldwide destruction is YOU!
I thought the game was really good, in a similar vein to

the zombie attack games I’ve seen before on the iPhone, but with spiders. It really gives you the creeps! Its fast and furious and I really like the way you can just dive in for a few minutes of mayhem.
The principle of the game is simple, your character at the bottom of the
screen needs to shoot the incoming spiders which approach from different directions, there are larger boss spiders every so often, and the sound effects and background music add nicely to the overall effect.
Graphics are what you expect from a good iPhone game, but what is most important is the quality of the gameplay, and Spider Attack doesn’t let down, It’s addictive and keeps you coming back for more.
The game has a number of different levels, some at night where you can only see with the help of a torch attached to the end of your weapon, which is pretty cool, and adds a new dimensi
on to the game.
The game itself is easy to play, with a simple tap to shoot interface, its got an online high score table, which is something everyone really expects from the better iPhone games these days.
Check it out for yourself at http://spiderattack.madsquid.com/
There is also a game play video available which gives a good idea of what the game is about.
